Producer Kino Beats Gives Light To A Fast-Paced Life On The Road, Foreign Lands, & Transition To DJ Role
Norfolk, Virginia is the home of Kino Beats, but he is rarely seen around these days due to career obligations. The producer, who recently transitioned to tour DJ for Lex Luger, is our guest on this episode of the podcast. We talked about several different topics in the hour long conversation, giving a detailed insight about the life he lives at the moment. The lack of the basic formality & respect to the modern day producer in Hip Hop is addressed, & how many producers feel the need to build as an artist themselves.
“Ya’ll Don’t Respect Shit About A Producer.”
“I Could Produce For God Himself, & You Still Don’t Know My Face.”
We also talked about the popular Kino & Miles Sloan produced track for A$AP Rocky, “Hear Me“. The song later on ended up with the feature from Pharrell, which is one of the most significant tracks to date for the producer. He is not new to this game though, producing for the likes of Young Jeezy, Trae Tha Truth, Juelz Santana, Gunplay, Soulja Boy, the list goes on. He found production in just middle school, after realizing that rapping was not his calling. From there he started to engineer his close friends music for money, while pursuing his beats. He eventually ran into Lex Luger at the studio and their relationship grew to a point that he made Kino his International Tour DJ.
“I was a studio rat, just being in the studio non-stop.”
