Alabama Rapper & Shady Records Artist Yelawolf Debuts New Video From Upcoming Album ‘Trial By Fire’ | Visuals For Single ‘Daylight‘ Below
Gadsden, Alabama is where Shady Records rapper Yelawolf came up and formed his mind. The 36-year-old, half Native-American Cherokee, derives a variety of influences in his music from the Southern lifestyle. Known for Pop The Trunk and other down-south gritty reality, he continues to build on the story of how he came up.
In the latest portion of work, we see a visual depiction of Yelawolf & a small band inside a dark and dingy cabin. The rain is pouring quite heavily making for an even darker atmosphere. Lyrically, Atha (Yelawolf) is very clever and witted in terms of taking your mind of a journey. Much compared to the talents of Eminem, there is no doubt he can piece together some talented verses.
Sonically, this is a bit of a different style we have heard from anyone really. It has a sample-worthy intro and outro of Yelawolf singing. Yes, straight up singing. And it is not bad, honestly it’s catchy as fuck. When the rest of the production comes in, there is a bluegrass feel with some nice grimey drum loops. Reading this it would sound like total horse-shit, I know; but the song is very well executed.
The new album Trial By Fire name was just announced a few days ago, yet no release date has been given.
